Brazil
These days Brazil exports high quality specialty coffees

Brazil

Through our long term business relationships in Brazil we supply some of the finest Brazilian Specialty coffee and micro-lots. Brazil is one of the largest exporting coffee countries mainly known for mainstream neutral coffees with a good body and that famous nutty taste. But these days Brazil exports also high quality specialty coffee. The country has developed different processing methods to help producers maintaining the quality. Because of these developments we now offer some wonderful specialty coffee and micro-lots with a great body, intense sweetness and unique caramel and chocolate notes. Below you find more information about our current micro-lots and specialty coffee from the state of Minas Gerais. Minas Gerais is the biggest coffee growing area of Brazil exporting the most specialty coffee in the country. We offer this coffee from the following regions:

Sul Minas:

Sul de Minas is the Southern Region of Minas Gerais and has the biggest production of coffee in the area. Despite this, the region is covered by mostly small to medium farms. The landscape is made up by hills with altitudes between M850M and 1250. The mild climate and fertile soil of this region creates the perfect condition to produce high quality coffee. Here the coffee can be pulped natural, natural and washed. The regions most common varietals are Mundo Novo, Yellow Catuai, Icatu and Yellow Bourbon.

Cerrado de Minas:

Cerrado is located in the Northwest region of Minas Gerias. Most farms here are medium or large in size. It’s climate is characterized by dry winters and warm rainy summers. This tropical climate is great for producing natural processed, high quality coffee. With gorgeous rolling hills and highlands, the regions altitude can range from 800M – 1300M. The varietals that are most common here are Mundo Novo and Catuai. These coffees tend to have a higher acidity with medium body and sweetness.

This outstanding coffee is a blend from high quality farms from the south of Minas Gerais. During our last coffee trip to Brazil in October we’ve visited the producer and farms. There are 20 growers that are clustered in the highlands of the Campos das Vertentes, a southern region in the state of Minas Gerais. Most of them draw on a heritage of many years of coffee production, and in some cases represent the 4th, 5th or even 6th generation.
